Tom Lee first started his musical journey at 8 years old, taking piano lessons for 2 years.
After a brief break, he got his first guitar at around age 11. He took to it like a duck takes to water and was soon playing self taught to anyone who would listen.
Things got more serious at age 16, taking formal lessons from a renowned musician in Adelaide, where Tom realised his skill and love for the craft. A few small gigs and jam sessions followed and street busking(which he continues to this day).
Between 1992-2000 he fronted two bands, Garlick and Mudfoot, the latter having some local success gigging around Adelaide. During this period the band had their song “dreamstate” played on triple M radio
After the band split up, Tom played solo gigs, continued song writing and composing his unique and eclectic style of music that draws from blues, soul and rock. During this period he again performed in various cover bands on guitar.
Influenced by the great Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Alvin Lee, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Johnny Winter, Percy Sledge, Wilson Pickett and much more.
Tom has a classic blues rock feel mixed with contemporary 1990’s Brit pop and popular soul and blues covers. He is capable of blending these styles in a unique and interesting way.
A competent singer also, kind of sounding like mixture Between Van Morrison and Mark Seymour.
